Critical infrastructure protection is necessary to secure our gas lines, power grids, even tap water. All sixteen sectors designated by the Department of Homeland Security, are: Chemical, Commercial Facilities, Communications, Critical Manufacturing, Dams, Defense Industrial Base, Emergency Services, Energy, Financial Services, Food and Agriculture, Government Facilities, Healthcare and Public Health, Information Technology, Nuclear Reactors, Materials, and Waste, Transportation Systems, and Water and Wastewater Systems.
These sectors are deemed vital to the nation's security and public safety and will demand growth in workforce development to keep pace with in protecting these assets. The Critical Infrastructure Protection Working Group is an open forum for cross-training and information exchange among industry professionals and those interested in a career protecting the nation’s most critical infrastructure.
